Quiet for the Weekend – September 7-9, 2012

“And God rode upon the wings of a cherub, and flew.
He flew upon the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his secret place,
his canopy around him was dark waters
and thick clouds of the skies.
From the brightness before him,
his thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire.”
– Psalm 18:10-12

“It’s wonderful to climb the liquid mountains of the sky.
Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears.”
– Helen Keller

“The sky is the daily bread of the eyes.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Excuse me while I kiss the sky.”
– Jimi Hendrix

“Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add color to my sunset sky.”
– Rabindranath Tagore

“i thank you God for this most amazing day,
for the leaping, greenly spirits of trees,
and for the blue dream of sky,
and for everything which is natural,
which is infinite,
which is yes.”
– e.e. cummings

Hoping your weekend is blessed in very way and that the sky invites you into glory and praise.

Diana, I think you and I took pictures of the same sky…..only yours had palm trees in it and mine had pines 🙂

  2. Funny how that happens. :>) We are on the same coast, right??

  3. The heavens DO declare His glory!!! Have an awesome weekend, Diana. xox

  4. Right back atcha, Patricia. LOVED the insects at your site this morning.

I’m definitely a “sky” person. Sometimes get so excited I forget that I’m driving a car. OOPS!! Lovely photos…good quotes.

  6. I’m a sky person, too – when I’m not an ocean person or a mountain person. :>) Thanks for stopping by, Joanne.

  7. Beautiful progression of photos! I never get tired of watching the sky, a minute picture of the glories of heaven? Like the Emerson quote, the daily bread of the eyes – love that!

  8. Thank you, Maureen! I love sky-watching, especially on cloudy or even blustery days. Amazing beauty and power.

YEP! Me, too. Oceans, and Mountains… and BIG BOULDERS. [There is a stretch east of Butte, MT, by the I-state, that have piles of beautiful boulders with trees growing in and around, etc., and I always want to stop and take photos… but for some strange reason there are no rest or stop areas during those miles. I risk my life, b/c my attention gets side-spaced at that! Crazy, huh?]

  10. I’ll have to look for that stretch if I’m ever in Montana again! I have a niece and now a grand-niece living there, so . . . maybe. And what’s with the no rest stops on beautiful stretches of road? Frustrates the heck outta me sometimes. :>)
