“The world will be saved through beauty.”
-Doestoevsky
“One thing I ask from the LORD,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.”
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.”
– Psalm 27:4
Oh wow, I love that quote, the world will be saved through beauty. And your photos are all just stunning. I want to go to all those places and bask in the beauty of what He creates. I know I feel His presence in the beauty around me.
Where in the world have you been to capture such beauty? Oh my goodness, these photos are stunning!
Thanks, Shelly. Beauty speaks to me so strongly of God’s presence and creative genius. Beauty in creation, beauty in art, beauty in people and the beauty that people create, too.
These were all taken in the last three years – the first and the last on a trip to Maui one year ago this month – my retirement celebration trip!, the second at Yosemite in August 2010, where we were vacationing for two weeks with our kids and grandkids, the third on a driving trip in central CA with my husband and mom in March of 2009, the fourth by myself at the local beach about 9 months ago, the fifth in my front yard, fall of 2010.
I am daily reminded how much the Father loves beauty. Things are beginning to bloom here in Texas, and the colors are just magnificent.
You live in such a beautiful place Diana. I am always so taken with your pictures.
Wow that last photo is awesome!! Stunning!!
Absolutely beautiful. I felt peace visiting here today.
Oh, Diana! I love, love, love that quote. And Psalm 37:4 is one of my life verses–along with Philippians 3:13-14. One thing.
These photos are amazing!
Beautiful combination of photos… stunned my heart.
Oh, lovely…lovely! I could sit in each of those spots and simply drink in God’s Presence. Instead, today, I’ll drink it in here. 🙂
I’m probably messing up your stats, because I keep coming back here just to look. Sorry.
